How to maintain your grill so it will last longer

Small ways that make a big difference in keeping your grill running like a professional

Do you use your grill year round?  Or do you store it away for safe keeping?  Either way you want to make sure every time you fire it up it works like new.

There are ways to maintain your grill with minimal effort.

1.Keep your grill covered.

This may seem like a no-brainer but it is very tempting to simply finish grilling and walk away.  However, covering your grill protects it from rust and further damage from mother nature.  Plus, it will save you time from further cleaning in the future.

2. Spot clean after each use.

It’s best to do this regularly to prevent buildup.  While the grill is still hot, give the grates a good scrub.  The remaining food will fall off easier when they’re hot versus when cold.  If it’s a gas grill though you’ll want to let it cool.

3. Be wary of the flame.

If your grill sits on pavement, it’s best to place it on a tarp to catch any debris or grease.  It’s best to keep your grill at least 10 feet away from other buildings and other structures to prevent fires.

4. Regular cleanings matter.

Plus, the best way to probably maintain your grill is to give it thorough cleaning at least twice a year, this will extend its lifespan.  Make sure to check the propane tank for leaks periodically and possible clogged burners.
