What goes wrong on a Blaze grill

Why is my Blaze burner lighting unevenly?

Grease and rust have clogged the burner ports. Burners are the repair we do most on Blaze grills. The burners sit under Blaze's heat tents, which catch grease, and over the years the ports close. We drill out the ports that can be cleared and replace a burner that cannot, then check every burner lights blue and even.

Why is my Blaze grill not getting hot?

Often the regulator or the hose. A failed regulator holds the flame low on every burner. We test the regulator under pressure and replace it and the hose if they have failed, and check the grill is set up for the gas you have.

Why won't my Blaze grill light?

Usually the electrode, the igniter or its battery. We test the spark at each burner, then adjust or replace the electrode or the igniter and fit a new battery.

Why are the lights or lit knobs on my Blaze out?

A bulb, an LED, the wiring or the light transformer under the island. We trace which one has failed and replace it. When a new Blaze has electrical faults under warranty, we work it through with Blaze for you: one owner's review says we came out twice and "worked directly with the manufacturer and made it happen".

Why won't my Blaze knobs turn?

A stiff or seized valve. We free it up and lubricate it, or replace it if it is past that, and replace worn knobs.

Where to find your Blaze model and serial number

Blaze puts the serial number and the rating label on the left-hand outside of the firebox (Blaze LTE user manual). On a built-in grill that side faces into the island, so it can be hard to see: the box the grill came in carries the serial number too. Send us a photo of either and we will find the part your Blaze needs.

Blaze parts we fit

From the parts we fit most, at your home:

  • Burners and heat tents.
  • Regulators and hoses, for propane and natural gas.
  • Igniters: electrodes, wires and battery boxes.
  • Valves and knobs.
  • Lights: bulbs, LEDs for lit knobs, and transformers.
  • Griddle plates, grates and warming racks.

For older Blaze grills we source parts from more than 100 vendors; a photo of the rating label is usually all we need.

Blaze grill cleaning

Most of our Blaze jobs are cleanings. Our full cleaning takes your Blaze apart to its components:

  • Inspect: gas line, regulator, valves and gaskets before anything gets wet, and any sign that rodents have moved in.
  • Vacuum: ash, debris and anything nesting comes out first.
  • Degrease: hood, firebox, drip tray, heat tents, knobs and shelves.
  • The parts that take the heat come out and are cleaned separately: grates, warming rack, heat tents and burners.
  • Polish: the stainless inside the firebox as well as out.
  • Our 10-point tune-up: igniters adjusted, valves lubricated, regulator checked, burner ports cleared, new ignition battery, air shutters set, and more.

A Blaze griddle is cleaned on the same visit: rust and grease come off the plate.

Blaze warranty and authorized service

We are authorized to service Blaze grills. Still under warranty? Contact us with your model and serial number and we will help you through the warranty process. Out of warranty, we fix it and give you the price first.

New Blaze grills, fitted and installed

We sell and install Blaze, and installs are a big part of our Blaze work. The consultation is free, at your home: we measure the space, photograph it, and come back with grills that fit. Installation is free when you buy the grill from us. If the new grill is smaller than your island's cut-out, our GrillFitter® closes the gap; going bigger, we reshape the cut-out. We have fitted new Blaze 32 and 40 grills into granite and block islands this way.

Blaze owners we look after

Most of our Blaze jobs are in San Diego, Carlsbad, Encinitas and San Marcos.

“Months into our Blaze purchase we began to have problems with the electrical components of the grill- after contacting SDBBQ they were very attentive and came down to our house twice to asses and then to resolve the issues. They worked directly with the manufacturer and made it happen.”

Claudia Ramirez, July 2026, Google review

“We purchased our Blaze BBq from them and their maintenance yearly should keep it around a long time.”

Asked about Blaze grills

Are you an authorized Blaze service company?

Yes.

We are authorized to service Blaze grills, Premium LTE, Blaze Professional and Marine. If your Blaze is under warranty, contact us with the model and serial number and we will help you through the warranty process; we have worked warranty faults through with Blaze for owners. Out of warranty, you get the price before we start.

Do you work on Blaze Professional LUX grills?

Yes.

The Blaze Professional line, including the LUX, is one we clean and repair alongside Premium LTE. The work is much the same: burners, igniters, regulators and lights. Our Blaze Professional LUX review covers the grill itself.

Do you work on Blaze Marine grills?

Yes.

We clean and repair Blaze Marine grills like any Blaze: cleaning first, then burners, igniters, regulators and lights as needed, and a photo of the rating label tells us which parts yours takes.

Can you clean a Blaze griddle?

Yes, on the same visit as the grill.

We take the rust and grease off the plate and clean the griddle cover and surround, so it is ready to season and cook on.

Can you convert my Blaze to natural gas?

Often, yes, depending on the model.

We check the model on the rating label first, confirm the conversion and the price, then fit the parts and test every burner. A grill on the wrong gas burns low, so it is worth checking after a move.

How often should a Blaze be cleaned?

A full cleaning every one to two years keeps a Blaze close to new in looks and in how it cooks, and a light cleaning every six months in between keeps the grates and heat tents right.

One owner who bought a Blaze from us has it cleaned every year.

Do you install new Blaze grills?

Yes.

We sell Blaze and install it free when you buy the grill from us, after a free consultation at your home. If the new grill does not match your island's cut-out, our GrillFitter or a reshaped cut-out makes it fit.

Can you fit a new Blaze into my existing island?

Usually, yes.

We measure your cut-out and the new grill at a free consultation. If the Blaze is smaller than the opening, our GrillFitter custom laser-cut frame closes the gap; if it is bigger, we reshape the cut-out. Either way, the grill is installed free when you buy it from us, and it looks like the island was built around it.

How much does a Blaze repair cost?

It depends on the fault and the part.

Send a photo for a free estimate, or we find the fault at the grill; either way you get the price before any work starts. Cleaning is priced by grill width, and a repair found during a cleaning is priced before we do it.

Send a photo of your Blaze grill

We reply with what it most likely is, whether it is worth fixing, and what happens next. Free.
